      ENT Discovery

      Guidelines for authors

      1 General Introduction

      ENT

Discovery (ENTD) is a dynamic platform dedicated to pioneering research

and clinical innovations in otorhinolaryngology. The journal champions

an interdisciplinary approach, integrating cutting-edge technologies,

novel therapies, and surgical advancements to drive the field forward.

We welcome original discoveries, translational studies, and clinical

insights that advance the diagnosis and treatment of ENT disorders. For

more information about the journal’s focus and coverage, please refer to

the Aims & Scope. The journal is published online. Online versions

      are available at https://journal.hep.com.cn/ent.

      2 Publication Ethics and Integrity

      Once

the submission materials have been prepared in accordance with the

Author Guidelines, manuscripts should be submitted online at

      https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/entdiscovery.

For help with submissions, please contact: entdiscovery@pub.hep.cn

      2.1 Types of articles

      l Original Article

      Original

Articles present novel research findings or conceptual analyses that

make a substantial contribution to the field’s knowledge base.

      l Review

      Review

Articles provide a comprehensive synthesis of developments in a field

or current lines of thought, drawing on multiple sources of information

and extensive referencing; the emphasis is on factual analysis rather

      than purely opinion.

      l Case Report

      Case

Reports describe the detailed clinical presentation, diagnosis,

treatment and follow-up of an individual patient (or a small case

series) and typically highlight an unusual or novel occurrence or

provide substantial learning value for the readership.

      l Guideline

      Guideline

Articles provide evidence-based analyses and recommendations on issues

relevant to clinical practice, health care management, public health or

      health policy.

      l Perspective

      Perspective

Articles offer a forum for authors to present models, ideas or

viewpoints on a specific area, typically reflecting personal insight or

future directions rather than primary research.

      l Commentary

      Commentary

Articles are evidence-based opinion pieces on topics of broad interest,

often invited, providing critique, commentary or interpretation rather

      than original data.

      l News

      News

items provide factual, timely information and updates on relevant

events, research highlights or developments outside the primary

      peer-reviewed article structure.

      l Editorial

      Editorials

are short pieces written by the Editor-in-Chief or a commissioned

guest, conveying an opinion or overview on an issue of topical or

influencing an author’s objectivity is considered a potential source of

conflict of interest. These must be disclosed when directly relevant or

indirectly related to the work that the authors describe in their

manuscript. Potential sources of conflict of interest include but are

not limited to patent or stock ownership, membership of a company board

of directors, membership of an advisory board or committee for a

company, and consultancy for or receipt of speaker’s fees from a

      publication in this journal.

      If

the authors have no conflict of interest to declare, they must also

state this at submission. It is the responsibility of the corresponding

author to review this policy with all authors and to collectively list

in the cover letter (if applicable) to the Editor-in-Chief, in the

have understood the journal's licensing policy. Further information

about the journal's license agreement(s) and Terms of Use can be found

in 2.4 Copyright & OA Licensing in following part and Editorial

      policy.

      2.3 Duplicate Publication and Plagiarism

      We

only accept original, unpublished manuscripts that have not been

submitted simultaneously to other journals. By submitting a manuscript,

authors agree to this policy. As defined by the World Association of

Medical Editors (WAME), plagiarism is the use of others' published or

unpublished ideas, words, or other intellectual property without

attribution or permission. The intent and effect of plagiarism are to

mislead the reader as to the contributions of the plagiarizer. This

applies whether the material is taken from abstracts, research grants,

or published or unpublished manuscripts. The editorial office uses

plagiarism detection software, such as iThenticate, to screen all

submissions. Any allegations of plagiarism are investigated in

accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.

If plagiarism is detected at any point, appropriate actions will be

taken, which may include notifying the authors' institution and funding

agencies, and potentially retracting the published paper. For additional

      information, please visit http://www.publicationethics.org.

      2.4 After Acceptance

      l First Look

      After

your paper is accepted, your files will be assessed by the editorial

office to ensure they are ready for production. You may be contacted if

any updates or final files are required. Otherwise, your paper will be

      sent to the production team.
