JOMA杂志是一本开放获取的同行评审期刊，聚焦口腔颌面外科、头颈外科和耳鼻喉外科等相关外科手术中的麻醉问题。JOMA杂志旨在发表探讨上述相关外科麻醉领域的前沿热点问题和现状的文章，包括但不限于气道管理、气管插管、全身麻醉诱导及维持、口腔局部麻醉、口腔舒适化诊疗技术以及麻醉实施期间并发症及紧急情况的处理。作为一本电子期刊，JOMA杂志致力于为相关研究者和临床工作者提供开展学术研讨的平台，以期为麻醉学科注入新观点、新思想。JOMA杂志由邱蔚六院士和张志愿院士担任名誉主编，姜虹教授担任主编，夏明教授担任执行主编。

Thank you for your interest in Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Anesthesia (ISSN 2790-8852; J Oral Maxillofac Anesth; JOMA). JOMA adheres to the ICMJE’s Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly work in Medical Journals (1), COPE’s Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (2), and WAME’s policy (3) for generating this author instruction. Please refer to the following guidelines to help you prepare your manuscript. Feel free to contact the editorial office by email (joma@amegroups.com) should you have any questions. To ensure a swift peer review and publication process, manuscripts that do not adhere to the following instructions will be returned to the corresponding author for technical revision at the preliminary review. The author instruction is updated on January 16, 2026.

1. ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Anesthesia (J Oral Maxillofac Anesth, JOMA, ISSN 2790-8852) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal focusing on anesthesia applied in oral and maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgery, and otorhinolaryngologic surgery etc. Currently, JOMA has been indexed by Web of Science [Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)] and Scopus.

JOMA publishes articles discussing front-line issues and sharing the current situation of anesthesia applied in oral and maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgery, and otorhinolaryngologic surgery etc, including but not limited to airway management, endotracheal intubation, induction and maintenance of general anesthesia, oral local anesthesia, oral comfort diagnostic and therapeutic procedure, as well as managing complications and emergencies that may arise during the administration of anesthesia.

As an online publishing journal, it seeks to create a platform for researchers and clinicians by presenting pertinent investigations, for discussing critical questions relevant to the entire fields of oral and maxillofacial anesthesia, and aiming to develop new perspectives for all those issues concerned with oral and maxillofacial anesthesia.

The journal features original articles, cutting-edge reviews, case reports and some short but thought-provoking articles like editorial commentaries, thus representing a source of valuable, novel information for clinical and basic researchers alike. The entire submission and review process are managed through OJS, an electronic system to increase efficiency and ensure that submissions can be published within a short turnaround period.

JOMA is published by AME Publishing Company, with support from Wolters Kluwer (the journal content will be made available on Wolters Kluwer Health’s Lippincott and Ovid platforms).
