JNL provides for rapid publication of novel, peer-reviewed research into the interaction between language, communication and brain processes. The focus is on rigorous studies of an empirical or theoretical nature and which make an original contribution to our knowledge about the involvement of the nervous system in communication and its breakdowns.

The Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development is a cross-disciplinary journal for researchers from diverse scholarly and geographical backgrounds. It is concerned with macro-level coverage of topics in the sociology and social psychology of language, and in language and cultural politics, policy, planning and practice. Authors are encouraged to reject a deficit view of multilingualism and hence avoid terms such as native speaker, non-native speaker and use neutral terms such as L1 user, LX user instead.

Journal of Pidgin and Creole Languages《洋泾浜语与克里奥尔语杂志》（半年刊）. The Journal of Pidgin and Creole Languages (JPCL) aims to provide a forum for the scholarly study of pidgins, creoles, and other contact language varieties, from multi-disciplinary perspectives. The journal places special emphasis on current research devoted to empirical description, theoretical issues, and the broader implications of the study of contact languages for theories of language acquisition and change, and for linguistic theory in general.

Journal of Phonetics《语音学杂志》（双月刊）. The Journal of Phonetics publishes papers of an experimental or theoretical nature that deal with phonetic aspects of language and linguistic communication processes. Papers dealing with technological and/or pathological topics, or papers of an interdisciplinary nature are also suitable, provided that linguistic-phonetic principles underlie the work reported. Regular articles, review articles, and letters to the editor are published. Themed issues are also published, devoted entirely to a specific subject of interest within the field of phonetics.

It locates at the intersection of several social science disciplines including communication and media research, linguistics, discourse studies, political science, political sociology or political psychology. It focuses mainly on the empirically-founded research on the role of language and wider communication in all social processes and dynamics that can be deemed as political.
