Since its launch in 1990, Modern British History has published outstanding work on the recent history of Britain, the United Kingdom, and their global entanglements. The journal publishes exciting new research and work that places British history in conversation with the most pressing issues in the historical discipline. The journal has published landmark work by leading figures in the field while also providing a forum for the emergence of new scholars, subjects, and methods. In January 2024, the journal was renamed Modern British History (previously Twentieth Century British History) to reflect the forward movement of historical scholarship into the twenty-first century.
