International Journal of Production Research is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research. Please see the journal's Aims & Scope for information about its focus and peer-review policy.

Please note that this journal only publishes manuscripts in English.

International Journal of Production Research accepts the following types of article:

Open Access

You have the option to publish open access in this journal via our Open Select publishing program. Article Types

Original Article

Should be written with the following elements in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion; acknowledgments; declaration of interest statement; references; appendices (as appropriate); table(s) with caption(s) (on individual pages); figures; figure captions (as a list)

Should be no more than 9,000 words

Should contain an unstructured abstract of 200 words.

Should contain between 5 and 6 keywords. Read making your article more discoverable, including information on choosing a title and search engine optimization.

Please note that for IJPR papers the following elements are mandatory:

an exhaustive analysis of related Production Research publications;

a novel decision aid model for design or management of production systems and logistics, the model should be explained for a large audience in production research;

comparisons with the state of the art;

discussion on real life applications of the proposed approach in production systems and logistics;

managerial insights for decision makers in industry;

research perspectives.

Any appendices that exceed this limit will be published online within the Journal as supplemental material. Figures/tables should number no more than 15 (in any form or combination, i.e. 10 tables/5 figures, or 12 figures/3 tables). Any papers that exceed this limit will be unsubmitted.

If you are submitting in LaTeX, please convert the files to PDF beforehand (you may also need to upload or send your LaTeX source files with the PDF).

Review Article

Should be written with the following elements in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion; acknowledgments; declaration of interest statement; references; appendices (as appropriate); table(s) with caption(s) (on individual pages); figures; figure captions (as a list)

Should contain an unstructured abstract of 200 words.
