    About this article type

    Several types of review papers are accepted; these articles are usually solicited by the editors, but unsolicited manuscripts are accepted. Because the essence of review papers is the selection and interpretation of relevant literature, it is important for these papers that authors declare no conflicts of interests.

    About this article type

    Systematic reviews of topics of current interest are particularly encouraged, and include quantitative, meta-narrative, and qualitative reviews, that have clearly formulated questions and use systematic and explicit methods to identify, select, and critically appraise relevant research, and to collect and analyze data from the studies that are included in the reviews. It is suggested that systematic reviews be accompanied by a completed Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) flow diagram checklist.

    Discussion Papers present topics that are controversial or challenging. Reviewer comments follow the published paper and author responses to the review comments follow the reviewer comments.

    Style requirements

    This Journal allows Format-Free Submission. You don’t need to format your manuscript to meet any special style requirements, but your submission should be easy to read and comment on. Your references can be in any scholarly citation format, so long as formatting is consistent throughout the article.

     

    Upon revision or acceptance, you may be asked to format your manuscript according to the journal guidelines. We may need you to send us any extra items required for publication. Find out more about preparing a Format-Free submission.

    Unnumbered headings:

    First-level headings (e.g. Introduction, Conclusion) should be in bold, with an initial capital letter for any proper nouns.

    Second-level headings should be in bold italics, with an initial capital letter for any proper nouns.

    Third-level headings should be in italics, with an initial capital letter for any proper nouns.

    Fourth-level headings should be in bold italics, at the beginning of a paragraph. The text follows immediately after a full stop (full point) or other punctuation mark.
