Guidelines for Authors

"Drewno" is a biannual journal. Scientific papers accepted for publication may come out in electronic form with the option to download them before their paper version appears.

Thematic scope:

Technological, technical, ecological and economic issues important for the wood sector from a scientific and practical viewpoint, i.e. the anatomy, biology, chemistry and physics of wood; mechanical and chemical wood technology, inter alia, sawmilling, composite wood materials, wooden construction, furniture- making, wood pulp, paper-making, material engineering, environmental protection, the safety of processes, products and work stations; biotechnology; bioenergy; biofuels; forestry; and forest-based industry economics.

Scientific papers are published according to the Open Access model. The Editorial Board does not charge the authors for publishing, with the exception of scientific papers containing coloured illustrations.

Scientific papers (written in British English) should be prepared in accordance with the guidelines (page formatting and text editing) and submitted to the Editor's Office using the Form for Authors.

Article - material presenting the results of original research of a/an empirical, theoretical, technical or analytical nature. The material presents the current state of knowledge, the research methodology, the course of the research process and its results, as well as conclusions. It also includes references to the literature cited, as well as to general and polemic texts. The maximum allowable length is 15 pages.

Report - a short text presenting the results of experiments and/or fragments of ongoing research, which signals its continuation. It contains the research methodology, the course of the research process and its results, as well as conclusions. It also includes references to the literature cited. The maximum allowable length is 8 pages.

The Editorial Board accepts unpublished scientific papers only. The authors are fully responsible for the contents of the scientific papers. The Editorial Board reserves the right to shorten the texts and make terminological changes within them.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject any scientific text without giving substantiation, if it is thematically unsuited, lacks quality or presents the results incorrectly.

The Editorial Board makes every effort to avoid cases of ghostwriting and guest authorship which are considered unethical behaviour by an author, indicative of scientific dishonesty. Therefore, the Editorial Board requires that authors disclose all contributors to the publication, including information on their affiliation.

Ghostwriting is the situation when a co-author is not mentioned in any part of the scientific paper (i.e. is not listed either among the authors or in the acknowledgements).

Guest authorship (honorary authorship) means that a person listed as the author or a co-author of an scientific paper made an insignificant contribution or no contribution at all to the scientific paper.

The author submitting the paper is held responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy.

The authors are obliged to disclose information on the source of research financing, especially in the case of public finance, therefore financial disclosure is required.

Once the materials are accepted for publication, the copyrights are transferred to the publisher (Author Declaration).

The graphics should be in the form of separate excel files. The placement of a given file should be marked in the text.

The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics' Code od Conduct for Journal Publishers.
