    Project description

    Diabetes mellitus is a major public health issue that affects the quality of life of people in China. Inappropriate dosage of insulin is a main cause of poor glucose management quality and the occurrence and development of diabetes-related complications. Aiming at achieving precision insulin dosage decisions for multiple daily injection therapy in diabetes, this project will

    1) Analyze the impact of exercise, emotion, food intake, and other factors on the glucose metabolic process.

    2) Conduct research on glucose prediction based on multi-source physiological information, intelligent insulin dosage decisions.

    3) Design of wearable insulin decision platforms, and clinical evaluation of the developed technologies.

    Requirement

    1. The applicant must hod a PhD degree in Automation, Control, Machine Learning, or related research areas. The PhD degree must be issued by a HK local university or nonlocal university whose ranking is within 100 in any of the ranking indices,

    - Natural Sciences

    b. Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)

    - Natural Sciences

    - Engineering

    c. Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings

    2. Strong publication record in top international journals/conferences.

    3. Proficient in system modeling, estimation, and control and applying machine learning tools.

    Post period

    20-24 months

    Salary

    Maximum of 35,000HKD monthly allowance (depending on the applicant's qualifications)
